由于妻子美荣子（菅野美穗 饰）受到农药的影响而致病，家住青森县中津轻郡岩木山脚下的木村秋则（阿部隆史 饰）决定放弃果农延续多年的作业办法，希望培育出无需喷洒农药的纯天然苹果。他的决定超乎常人的想象，同时也被村民们认为是不可能的任务。可是一旦做了决定，他便一门心思研究起来。在此期间，美容子以及岳父征治（山崎努 饰）成为他精神和物质上最坚实的后盾。然而全无任何可以借鉴的秋则，只能在不断的失败中摸索前进，即使经过十几年的努力，他的梦想依然没能实现，而原本好好的一个家也到了崩溃的边缘。他哭泣，他绝望，期盼奇迹的降临…… 本片根据果农木村秋则的真实事迹改编。。Everyone has an opinion on bad cars... now it's time to hear the ones that really count--ours... As it's the worst car in the history of the WORLD, we're on our travels ... to the North of England ... to name and shame the most rubbish car from a manufacturer which, frankly, should have known better.
