1935年，中央红军突破湘江后，挥师贵州，攻占遵义，决定在遵义召开扩大会议（遵义会议），蒋介石严令国民党中央军及四川军阀部队进攻黔北。为了保证扩大会议的顺利召开，红军在遵义周边组织多处防线阻击国民党中央军。红军红一师红二团奉命进驻綦江羊角一线警戒四川军阀部队，并击毙了川军的先头部队，随后派出一支精悍的小分队，尾随溃军进至观音桥、丹溪一带，进行侦察、袭扰，造成红军进攻重庆之声势，以此阻滞川军向黔北进发。。Walter Nebicher is the police department's resident computer expert, although his immediate superior gives no respect as to his contribution to the force.
