Meanwhile, Jeanne is depicted more as a warrior than a saint (all cliches are avoided), with only her faith for strength.。A young Syrian refugee faces hard truths chasing the American dream on the streets of Memphis, Tennessee, while living in poverty, dealing with social injustice and witnessing his neighbor's opioid addiction.。丽佳（菅野美穗饰）出生时在母亲百合子（川岛直美饰）眼中是一只蜥蜴的形象，百合子因此十分厌恶丽佳，不久次女麻美（榎本加奈子饰）诞生，百合子便将所有的宠爱都给了麻美，而百般针对丽佳。 百合子生日时丽佳用尽自己的储蓄买了一条丝巾送给妈妈，却遭到责骂，伤心的丽佳投河自尽，恰好被路过的冈崎升（冈田义德饰）救起。丽佳惊恐地发现，自己在镜子中是蜥蜴的形象！从那天起，理佳把内心封闭起来，变得沉默寡言。 自己是个“怪物”的意识无时无刻不影响着丽佳，长大后，面对爱情和未来，丽佳始终无法想信自己能够获得幸福……。
