The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely. The tamped-down acting and the spare, tense visual rhetoric suggest a state of moral crisis as well as the response—as much in style as in substance—that it demands.。身为UFO学会会长的欣过往三年一直沉迷研究外星人，但一直遗憾没有亲身与外星人接触的机会。卡路性格贪玩，思想简单，圣诞前夕，男友杰与她相约到离岛度假，但二人因一时闹得愉快，卡路在度假屋内独处期间被外星人掳走做交配实验。 翌日回家以后，发觉身体不适，腹部突然隆起，始知出事，诞下一只巨蛋，茜把生产过程摄录下来，期间杰登门造访，以为卡路与茜在内鬼混，误会更为加深，巨蛋孵化出一个外星怪婴，卡路遂将之抛弃。外星怪婴PK跟了祥回家，祥性格好食懒飞，整天想丢下PK不顾，但每次丢下PK不顾后发生意外也被PK所救，二人成为患难之交。欣助PK与母亲卡路相认和解，并对PK热切关心，令PK以为二人有机会发展，谁知后来发现欣只是对PK之外星人身份沉迷，非常失望。MIB发现其身份，欲捉拿PK作研究。期间PK为救欣而受伤，性命危在旦夕，最后PK的爸爸带着PK回到了外星球。。
