此片不同于以往的 Hammer 吸血鬼的故事模式，描写由吸血鬼化身而成的巡迴马戏团来到一个已经遭受诅咒与疫情的村落，并且带来灾难的故事。此部片的故事背景设定在19世纪的塞尔维亚，这些如吉普赛人般的马戏团成员事实上都是会变身的吸血鬼。。朝朝为救病母温时宜冒雪求药，回家却目睹母亲含冤自尽。尸骨未寒之际，恶毒包租婆欲将她卖入青楼。绝境之中，摄政王裴容景途经此地，当场决意认养。孤苦无依的朝朝一跃成为尊贵的长乐郡主，踏入王府，命运彻底逆转。。Whilst Clive Reader celebrates his taking silk but Martha hits the bottle, angry that inspector Wright has lied in court to convict her client Johnny Foster.
